Founded in 1981 the company is now owned and run by the current Directors following a management buyout of the company in 2003.

Our reputation as a progressive logistics innovator was recognised at the 2015 Irish Logistics & Transport Awards where we were awarded the ‘Logistics Company of the Year award’. We were also nominated in the ‘Green Mover’ category. The awards acknowledge the achievements of companies in the practice of Logistics, Transport and Supply Chain Management in Ireland with nominations adjudicated on by a panel of experts from our industry. |

| IWT were also awarded ‘Logistics Company of the Year’ at the Irish Exporters Association in 2006 and were one of 3 nominees in 2007 & 2009 for this award. |

| The launch of our rail service between Dublin and Ballina in August 2009 was a major achievement for our company. This service offers customers 14 services weekly and is the only container rail service operating out of Dublin Port. This rail freight service is a significant addition to our portfolio of domestic and international services. We plan to develop the growth potential for this and similar services within the existing rail network with a focus on reducing costs, reducing our annual carbon footprint and providing a statistically safer mode of transport. |
